Hand drawn titles

I drew all of my titles that appear on my website and that of my name logo. I scanned the titles into Photoshop and manipulated them, adding some of my pattern work for backgrounds to some, like the one above.

Pattern slide show

Some of my pattern work, in no particular order! I feel it allows the viewer to understand some of the development; build up and how the most slightest of differences in pieces are now more easily identifiable on the eye. As some of the work looks quite similar but the transitions here allow the viewer to see the differences more easily.

I have been working with a dotty duvet cover; a cushion cover; a stripy curtain and a garden fence.

I just did this now. There's about 14 layers here! It is made up of lots of different things.

I drew some of my mum's Easter daffodils.

Repeated Rose square

I went back to the Pink rose pen and cropped it in square shapes and created a new pattern.

I went further and cropped the rose in a heart shape. I started again with that heart and kept rotating and applying in a circular motion, to create a new pattern.

Well I drew a rose with a pen, and the rest is history!

My hand drawn logo

My flower with lots of different detailed pattern work in the background in lots of different selected areas.

I enhanced my pen drawing of a flower using Photoshop. It looks so good I am using it as my Logo for everything now! I've got it on my website aswell. It is so amazing! I am in love with it now!

Geometric and floral

I have been experimenting with keyboard keys, and the geometric shapes in radiators.

Textures

Colour variations, especially through the hue/saturation.

I like the textured effect that comes through on this design. It shows the texture of the curtain through the design. For some reason it reminds me of the USA flag. There also appears to be the shape of a body in the design.

Here I have taken the previous image and added a spotty layer and a flower layer from a curtain and edited the opacity and filters.

Here I have done some more Photoshop pattern work. It is still a bit simple. I think there is still a lot more room for development.

Initial work on Phototshop using my own images.

This pattern is created from repeated curtain pattern designs. I have began merging two different patterns, by pasting the blue pattern design behind the pink flower one. It is still a bit simple yet, so I have lots more work to do.

'Flashback'

I went to view the Bridget Riley exhibition 'Flashback' a couple of weeks ago, at the Waterhall Gallery, Birmingham. It was amazing! So much pattern work - wow!

Thinking

I have decided to take a very different approach this year and I am doing my Art work through ICT and not doing lots of drawing and painting. I need to leave my comfort zone and work on my weaker areas. I need to improve my ICT skills. So I am doing my Art work on patterns, which I love, through ICT. I am developing my pattern images on Photoshop. Its going quite well.
